Although TinyCore Linux is a small download:
- 8MB - Core
- 12MB - TinyCore
- 64MB - CorePlus
If you have TinyCore set up the way you like it, and you don't want to re-install, there is an easy way to upgrade TinyCore. I tested this with 4.7.3 and 4.7.4 although it should in theory work with all 4.x versions.
Download two files from the TinyCore distribution files:
- For 32-bit users: core.gz and vmlinuz
- For 64-bit users: core64.gz and vmlinuz64
These files should be saved into the 'boot' folder (in my case it was: /mnt/sdc1/tce/boot). This overwrites the previous version. Reboot and you are running 4.7.5. I tested this with 32-bit versions of 4.7.3 and 4.7.4 and so far no problems with anything that was already installed.
Thanks to the TinyCore team for all their work and effort.
